Remove Comments

Comments can be removed if you have the appropriate permission. You can remove comments that have been added to a PLL case from Task Manager, Corrections, the Main panel, and directly to a task in the workflow. The user interface may be different, but the steps are the same. You can also use the Task Utility tool to remove comments from multiple tasks on a case.

PREREQUISITES:

  • The Allow Comments to be Deleted preference must be selected in Designer under Preferences > General. See Configure General Preferences in the Designer Office Companion 23 Guide for more information.
  1. Click the delete icon.

  1. Click Delete in the Delete Comment panel.

The Task Utility tool can be used to find an existing case or a group of cases with tasks that include comments and remove the comments from multiple tasks.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Users must have the Task Utility permission selected under Case User in PLL Admin. See Security Roles in the PLL Admin Office Companion 23 Guide for more information.

NOTE: This page can be accessed by adding a custom URL to your site menu in Designer. In the URL field, enter CWPermit/UF/Case/Page/CUFTaskUtility.aspx. See Configure the Cityworks Toolbar in the Designer Office Companion 23 Guide for more information.

  1. Open the Task Utility tool.

  1. Enter search criteria, such as the case number or case type, in the corresponding fields.
  2. Click Search.

Results matching your search criteria appear below the search form.

  1. Click the link for one of the cases and the tasks display below.
  1. Select the desired task(s).
  2. Select Delete Task Comments.

  1. Click Submit.

A success message displays and the comments are removed from the selected task(s).
