Locate by Point

Users can find addresses by placing a point on the map.

PREREQUISITES: A geocode service must be created. See Add a Geocode Service in the Designer for 15.9 Guide for more information.

1. Click Locate on the map toolbar or select it from the Tools drop-down list.
2. Click Find by Point.
3. Click a location on the map. The address of that point is displayed in the Locate map tool.

NOTE: Points should be placed near the center of a parcel, building, or other object that has a physical address. If a point is placed on a street, the next closest address is displayed.

4. Click Clear to clear the location.

IMPORTANT: If multiple locations are returned and you create a work activity without selecting a location, Cityworks selects the location that has the highest accuracy.
